TheGathering

Rooted in the Word. Alive in the Spirit. Sent to the World.

A remnant of Spirit-filled disciples meeting in homes across Portugal — making disciples who make disciples, to the ends of the earth.

Who We Are

Not a building.
A movement.

The Gathering is a community of disciples meeting in homes across Portugal. We exist for one purpose: to encounter Jesus, be equipped in our calling, and be sent into the harvest.

We practice believers’ baptism by full immersion. We honor the Hebrew roots of our faith — the Sabbath, the holy days in their prophetic fullness. We walk in the present-day gifts and power of the Holy Spirit — not as spectacle, but as normal Kingdom life, Word-tested and fruit-confirmed.

Rooted in Santa Cruz and reaching across Portugal, we are a network of home gatherings united around one mission. We preach repentance and the forgiveness of sins. We honor our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit.

We are not here to make you comfortable. We are here to provoke you toward the upward call of Christ. We carry the mantle of Ephesians 4 — establishing and laying proper foundations — and we will not compromise for comfort.

The Promise

“Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance,
and the ends of the earth for Your possession.”

Psalm 2:8 · NKJV

Our Mission

What We Are Here to Do

Make Disciples

Not converts. Disciples. Life-on-life investment in faithful men and women who will teach others also — four generations and beyond.

Matt 28:18–20 · 2 Tim 2:2

Preach the True Gospel

The unadulterated gospel of Jesus Christ — repentance, the cross, resurrection, Lordship. We will not water it down or soften the call.

Mark 16:15–20 · Luke 9–10

Plant Gatherings

We plant churches in homes, in communities, wherever the Spirit leads. You don't need a building — you need the Holy Spirit and faithful people.

Acts 2:46 · Rom 16:5

Operate in Power

We believe in healing, deliverance, signs, and miracles as normal expressions of the Kingdom — grounded in the Word, not hype.

Mark 16:17–18 · Matt 10:7–8

Walk in Freedom

We believe people can come out of real bondage into real freedom — addiction, shame, trauma, spiritual oppression — in Jesus' name.

John 8:36 · Luke 4:18

Equip & Send

The Church exists not merely to gather but to equip and release every believer into the God-given calling He prepared before the foundation of the world.

Eph 4:11–16
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. And these signs will follow those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues… they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.”

Mark 16:15, 17–18, 20 · NKJV

Statement of Faith

What We Believe

We are unapologetically Christ-centered, Word-anchored, and Spirit-filled. These are the foundations we will not move from.

We strive for unity with all true believers — every authentic expression of Christ’s Church deserves respect, dignity, and love.

01 Authority of Scripture
All Scripture is God-breathed, wholly true, and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Word equips the believer for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16–17
02 The Trinity
One God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — co-equal, co-eternal, and distinct in Person. We affirm the Nicene Creed. Matt 3:16–17 · John 1:1 · Eph 4:4–6
03 Salvation by Grace
Salvation is entirely the work of God's grace, received through faith, not earned by works. The true believer's salvation is secure in Christ. Eph 2:8–9 · John 10:28–29 · Rom 8:38–39
04 The Holy Spirit
Every believer is sealed and indwelt by the Holy Spirit at salvation, and called to continually seek fresh infilling and empowerment for holy living and witness. Eph 1:13–14 · Eph 5:18 · Luke 11:5–13
05 Repentance & Holiness
True faith produces genuine repentance — a change of mind that hates past sin. Holiness is not optional; without it, no one will see the Lord. Acts 17:30 · Heb 12:14 · James 2:18
06 Perseverance & the Cross
Followers of Christ are called to take up their cross daily, endure tribulation, and persevere in faith to the end — not drawing back under pressure. Luke 9:23 · Acts 14:22 · Heb 10:38–39
07 Spiritual Warfare
We affirm the reality of spiritual warfare. Believers have a real adversary and are called to active, disciplined engagement — not complacency. 1 Pet 5:8 · 2 Cor 2:11 · 2 Tim 2:3–4
08 Mission & Multiplication
The Church does not exist merely to gather — it exists to equip and send. We multiply disciples, activate gifts, and mobilize every believer for their calling. Matt 28:18–20 · Eph 4:11–16 · 2 Tim 2:2

The Gospel We Preach

The Good News, in Six Steps

There is one message at the center of everything we are and do: that God so loved the world He gave His own Son to rescue us. It is good news — the best news — and it is for you.

I

God Made You — and Jesus Is God

You were made by God and for God. And the God who made you did not stay distant — in Jesus of Nazareth He came near: not merely a teacher or a prophet, but the eternal God in human flesh. To meet Jesus is to meet God.

John 1:1, 14 · Colossians 2:9

Sin Has Separated Us From Him

Something has gone wrong — in the world, and in each of us. We have all turned from God and gone our own way. The Bible calls this sin, and it cuts us off from the God who is the source of life. No effort or religion can bridge that gap from our side; we need to be rescued.

Your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God.

III

Jesus Died and Rose to Rescue You

So God did for us what we could never do for ourselves. Jesus took our place on the cross; His blood paid the full price for our sin and opened the way back to the Father — and there He stripped the powers of darkness of their hold. Then He rose from the dead. The rescue is finished, and it is offered to you as a free gift.

IV

Turn and Trust Him — Repent and Believe

This gift cannot be earned; it is received by grace, through faith. Jesus’ first call was simple: repent and believe. To repent is to change your mind about sin and turn back to God; to believe is to entrust your whole life into His hands. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe the good news.

V

Be Born Again — Saved, Healed, Delivered, Made New

When you come to Jesus you are not merely improved — you are made new. The word the Bible uses for “saved” means rescued, healed, delivered, and made whole. You are born again: forgiven, brought from death to life, set free from the enemy’s grip — and filled with His Holy Spirit, who comes to dwell in you and clothe you with power.

John 3:3 · 2 Corinthians 5:17 · Acts 2:38–39

VI

Follow Him — Abide, Walk in the Spirit, Belong

Coming to Jesus is the beginning of a whole life with Him. We follow Him day by day — staying close to Him, walking in the power of His Spirit, and growing alongside His people. That is why we gather. The road has its trials, but you are kept by His strength, not your own — He holds those who are His.

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand.

Your Response

Will You Come to Him Today?

If this good news is stirring something in you, you don’t have to wait, and you don’t have to find the perfect words. You can turn to Jesus right now, just as you are. If you’re ready, you might pray something like this — and mean it from your heart:

A Prayer to Begin

“Jesus, I believe You are God, that You died for my sins and rose again. I’m sorry for going my own way. I turn from my sin and I trust my life to You. Wash me clean, make me new, and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Be my Lord and my Savior. Amen.”

If you prayed that and meant it, heaven rejoices over you. Welcome to the family of God. Now don’t walk alone — the new life is meant to be lived together. Reach out, and come and gather with us.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16

The Network

The Hub

Periodically, the network of home gatherings comes together as one body. This is The Hub — where the scattered Church becomes one, where stories of God’s faithfulness are declared, and where the fire spreads.

Not a concert. Not a service. A gathering of the gathered — celebrating, communing, testifying, and stirring up the gifts of the Spirit across the whole body.

Communion and celebration together
Testimonies of God's work in the gatherings
Prophetic ministry and stirring of gifts
